VARIATIONS
When letters are used, it's a game of making gibberish strings of text.
If you don't keep track of the order of pieces in the lists, it's a game of making multisets (or "bunches").
If you furthermore don't allow multiple copies of pieces, it's a game of making sets (or "selections").

As a cosmetic choice, the pieces could come with an "input" wire and an "output" wire.
The process of linking outputs up with inputs is just like arranging pieces in a list.
If the pieces came with multiple input wires, you would find yourself making trees instead.

Many other games use the idea of lists.
In this game, certain lists are made "equal" -- they can be swapped out for one another.
